COLUMBIA, S.C. — Cheney Brothers, a leading broadline food distributor, today announced it is expanding its Florence County operations with an additional $42.5 million investment that will create 85 new jobs.

Headquartered in Florida, Cheney Brothers processes and distributes a variety of food products across the United States, including meat and seafood, dairy, frozen food, and other dry groceries. The company also supplies food service equipment and offers kitchen and bar design services to its customers.

Cheney Brothers will expand its South Carolina distribution facility, located at 2491 Florence Harllee Blvd. in Florence, which first broke ground in 2023.

Founded in 2017, Riverstone Logistics specializes in final-mile delivery, freight brokerage and tailored logistics solutions. The company’s services focus primarily on consumer electronics, building materials, appliance installations and more.

Riverstone Logistics is relocating its corporate headquarters from Charlotte to 220 West White St. in Rock Hill.

Founded in 1872, Kimberly-Clark's well-known brands, including Cottonelle, Huggies, Kleenex, Scott and more, are sold in over 175 countries. The company is headquartered in Texas and has more than 40,000 employees worldwide.

Kimberly-Clark will add 1.1 million square feet to its existing facility located at 246 Old Jackson Highway in Beech Island. The expansion will streamline Kimberly-Clark’s distribution footprint, significantly increasing its ability to ship directly from its mega-manufacturing facility located on the same site. The company’s $7.3 million investment will create eight new jobs.

With more than a century of experience, Heidelberg Materials supplies cement, aggregates, ready-mixed concrete, asphalt and other building materials to customers throughout North America. The company currently operates more than 450 North American locations, including 16 in South Carolina, and employs approximately 9,000 people.

Heidelberg Materials will construct a 71-acre aggregates distribution terminal, located at 1616 Red Bank Road in Walterboro, to market crushed stone. With direct access to the Palmetto Railways Salkehatchie Subdivision rail line, the new operation will enhance the company’s Southeast distribution network.

Founded in Pennsylvania in 1998, Eastern supplies engineered wood products to building materials dealers and lumberyards across the East Coast. The company also provides technical support to customers including product placement drawings, product specification assistance and sales education.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Le Creuset, a global cookware, bakeware and kitchen tools brand, today announced it is expanding its operations in Hampton County. The company’s $30 million investment will create 30 new jobs.

Founded in France in 1925, Le Creuset manufactures and distributes premium, enameled cast-iron cookware, as well as stainless steel, stoneware and other kitchenware for customers around the globe. The company first established a presence in South Carolina in 1974 and opened its primary U.S. distribution operations in Hampton County in 1997.

Le Creuset will expand its Hampton County operations by constructing a new 300,000-square-foot distribution facility located at 601 Bob Gifford Blvd. in Early Branch.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded a $200,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to Hampton County to assist with the costs of site preparation and building construction.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – AAC East, LLC (AAC East), a producer of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC), today announced it is expanding its Marlboro County operations. The company’s $6 million investment will create 25 new jobs.

AAC East produces and distributes AAC, a sustainable, lightweight and energy-efficient alternative to concrete, used in commercial and residential floor and wall systems. The company’s Bennettsville facility provides AAC blocks and panels to customers across the eastern U.S.

AAC East’s expansion includes equipment upgrades as well as building and land improvements for its existing plant located at 166 Industrial Lane in Bennettsville.
